Roblox is raising its minimum draw distance from 200 studs to 500 studs, allowing players to see farther even with the lowest graphics setting. Draw distance also increases faster through the early quality levels. Terrain water can now remain transparent at every quality level, while beam segments scale less aggressively. Roblox says performance testing and statistical analysis support its expectation that low-end devices will maintain their existing performance and stability.
The changes apply automatically to every game. Creators are advised to check visuals across quality levels in Studio and review their streaming target radius if distant objects remain missing. Roblox cautions that draw distance values may receive further adjustments, so creators should avoid building around precise figures. Future work includes giving creators more control over which features matter most, reducing aggressive scaling of particle emission rates, and improving how the engine selects quality Settings for each device.
